Photo Gallery of Philly Meets DC In Baltimore Salsa Gala at Stadio
This is a big week everyone. Warm weather is finally among us and big things are happening this week.
First, let me thank everyone who attended the Beginner 2 Salsa Workshop last weekend and the extention this past Friday night. It was so successful I've had requests to do a similar one again. That one will be held at the end of the summer. Please, when the ad goes out, register immediately. I had a waiting list and had to turn people away (which I hate doing).
The next upcoming workshop is one I've had many requests for. The info is below. Please, if you wish to take this workshop, register soon. Because of the nature of the class, I will not go beyond the maximum and, as always, will keep the ratio even. By the way, the class this coming Wednesday will give you a sneak peak into the workshop format. Scroll down for class schedule. Please arrive on time. You don't want to miss any part of this. Also, if the class is as large as last week's (we had 76 people in class) we'll need every minute to get around to everyone. I've made a solemn promise to Dwight that I will not run the 7:30pm Beginner Salsa class over past 8:30pm. So, beginners...please get there on time!
Next, there are two new clubs opening in the area this week. Both openings happen to be on Thursday and I've been asked to which one am I going. I will be at both, actually. I feel, being a major part of the Baltimore Salsa community, it would be disrespectful if I didn't go and support a club opening in my own area. It's the right, and professional, thing to do. However, Eileen Torres is my friend and mentor and I have promised I would support her, as well. So, I will go first to Grace's opening at the Belvedere Hotel and then go down to Zanzibar. All information is on my website.
Be prepared for Wednesday, May 21. It's the start of the Memorial Day Weekend and we'll not only be open later but we'll be having an impromptu Jack 'n' Jill Salsa Dance Contest. No judges, just your friends cheering you on. And the best part is, there's a first and second place and it's all cash!
I've posted the info for the DC Salsa Congress on my website. Everyone should be going this year.
I think that's it. I am so stoked for this Wednesday. We've got DJ Truco at the helm, Chris at the bar and don't be surprised if, this week, Chris says, 'Let 'em rip! Keep the music playing!' If it's anything like last week, those words will be spoken early on in the night.
See you all Wednesday! It's going to be 80 degrees.
Susan
