 DENISE
DENISE ALLISON

Denise Allison:

Beautiful...inside and out is the ONLY way to describe this exceptional
mujer.
Her first taste of the dance was in August 2005. And like the rest of us
Salsaholics...she fell in love with it.  Not only did she learn
salsa/mambo, Denise made her perfomance debut a few months later, last
December, at Zanzibar, with who....the Clavekazi Student Group no less.
She auditioned, was accepted and started practicing.  Suddenly she was
called out of the country (we'll discuss that in awhile).  Returning a few
weeks later the Student group had learned the routine and Denise was far
behind the others.  As you will soon find out...challenges only motivate,
not deter this outstanding woman.  She began to practice non-stop to get up
to speed and says it felt good achieving something difficult, something
new.

Betcha Didn't know.....Denise was born right here in Takoma Park, Maryland,
however, she was raised in Argentina for the first 14 years of her life.
She also spent a couple of years in Germany.....so, her first language is
Spanish.....her second is English and she is good at conversational German.
OMG, I just love her accent..so sultry!!  You have to hear it.  What a
combination.i  Denise loves sports and played professional ball and raquet
ball in Argentina.  Cycling is what she finds oh so soothing though.  When
she's on her bike, she's transported somewhere else...a bettter place...a
peaceful place.  Look for her during the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile race and
she's also signed on to participate in a Mini Triathalon in Northern
Virginia...she's looking forward to testing her indurance.  Denise also
loves to travel, to say the least!!
Now lets get to the nitty gritty....this phenominal women has me in awe.
She takes the words humanitarian, world citizen and selflessness (is that a
word?) to the inth degree.  Denise is one of the many volunteers who
dropped everything and travelled to Sri Lanka (several times) at her own
expense, to help out the devastated people there who fell victim of that
devastating Tsunami last year.  Denise is passionate about volunteering and
says the gratification she gets from giving to and helping others is
indescribable.  She knows first hand why Princess Diana, Angelina Jolie and
other celebrities perform the volunteer work they do.  It gives your life
purpose...it's fullfilling.  Currently Denise is working on traveling to
Pakistan to help the needy families there.  Nowadays she has to be very
selective about who and what she gets involved in.  She had spread herself
very thin and it started to wear her down.  Not one to give up...she is now
contacting NGO's (Non-profit Govt Agencies) focusing on the smaller ones to
identify these needy families.  If that ain't enough...Denise is also
working on establishing her very own NGO with the intention of forming a
cooperative of Families Helping Families.  Any family that is aided by her
NGO would "pay it forward" and help a family that they know in need.  By
doing so, that family gets to experience the awesome feeling of
satisfaction by helping others.  What a great idea!!!  And what makes
Denise and her work to extraordinary....100 percent of donations she
collects goes directly to the people she's trying to help.  To read more
about this exceptional woman and /or to help in her cause....please visit
